Padel Court Construction in Connecticut & the Northeast
Precision Sports CT is one of the few court builders in the Northeast with direct experience constructing regulation padel courts. As padel explodes in popularity across the United States — growing from virtually zero to over 500,000 players with fewer than 1,100 courts nationwide — the demand for quality padel court construction in Connecticut and the surrounding region has never been higher.
What Makes Padel Court Construction Different
Padel courts are enclosed structures with specific engineering requirements that set them apart from tennis or pickleball courts:
- Dimensions: 10m x 20m (32.8’ x 65.6’) with surrounding walls
- Glass walls: Tempered 10-12mm glass on the back walls and portions of the side walls, allowing spectator viewing and ball-off-glass play
- Mesh panels: Galvanized or powder-coated steel mesh on the upper portions of the walls
- Artificial turf: Sand-infused synthetic turf surface (not acrylic) for proper ball bounce and player movement
- Structural steel frame: The entire court sits within a rigid steel framework that supports glass, mesh, and optional roof structures
Our Padel Court Construction Process
1. Foundation & Structural Engineering
Padel courts require engineered foundations to support the steel frame and glass wall system:
- Concrete slab foundation with proper reinforcement and drainage slope
- Steel frame anchoring with precision bolt patterns for wall panel attachment
- Drainage integration — In-slab drainage channels and perimeter collection systems critical for outdoor installations in Connecticut’s climate
2. Steel Frame & Enclosure
We install the structural steel framework that forms the bones of every padel court:
- Hot-dip galvanized steel posts and beams for corrosion resistance
- Modular panel systems allowing efficient installation and future maintenance
- Entry gates meeting regulation specifications for player access
3. Glass & Mesh Wall Installation
The enclosure system requires precise installation for safety and proper play:
- Tempered safety glass — 10-12mm panels on back walls, engineered to withstand ball impacts
- Mesh panels — 4m height galvanized mesh on upper side walls and above glass sections
- Sealing and padding — Rubber gaskets and corner padding for player safety
4. Artificial Turf Surface
Padel courts use a specific type of artificial turf:
- Monofilament or fibrillated fiber with appropriate pile height (12-15mm)
- Silica sand infill for proper ball bounce characteristics
- UV-stabilized fibers for Florida installations
- Proper sub-base drainage for year-round play in Connecticut
5. Professional Lighting
Padel court lighting requires even coverage without glare on the glass walls:
- LED floodlight systems positioned to avoid glass reflections
- 800-1000 lux minimum for competitive play
- Energy-efficient fixtures with dusk-to-dawn controls
Why Build a Padel Court in Connecticut?
The padel market in the Northeast is wide open. With fewer than a handful of padel facilities in all of New England, there’s a massive first-mover advantage for:
- Private clubs looking to attract new members with a trending sport
- Real estate developers adding amenities to luxury communities
- Homeowners with the space for a private court (40’ x 70’ minimum footprint)
- Municipal parks expanding recreation offerings
Service Areas
We build padel courts across Connecticut including Greenwich, Stamford, Westport, New Haven, and Hartford. In Florida, we serve Miami, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Naples, and Sarasota.
